IMPROVING THE HEALTH AND WELLBEING OF MOTHER AND BABY WORLDWIDE THROUGH GROUP CARE
Group care for (pregnant) mothers and their partners is a proven success, especially for the most vulnerable women and girls.
Within group care, eight to twelve women and their partners meet up during pregnancy or after birth with their baby for all medical and psycho-social care, during the first 1000 days, sharing experiences and learning from each other.
In order to implement group care as the standard model of care, the GC_1000 consortium developed strategies in seven countries between 2020 and 2024. The project finished in June 2024.
Changing the way healthcare is provided requires vision of what might be possible as well as guidance through the implementation process. Such change is both exciting and challenging. These materials will help you get started. Also join our community of practice!
